About Carem
Hi, I’m Carem! I’m a professional dancer and instructor with a passion for teaching Bellydance, Yoga, Ballet and Latin Dances. I have over five years of experience teaching dance to all ages and love sharing the joy of movement with my community.
I hold a degree in Dance from UDLAP and professional training in Bellydance, with additional certifications in Hatha, Vinyasa, Chair and Children’s Yoga. Whether I’m leading a class or hosting a special event, my goal is to create a welcoming and inspiring space for everyone to move, connect, and have fun.
When I’m not dancing, I am cooking with my wonderful husband, learning to play the Darbuka, getting lost in a hike or spending time with my loved ones.
Let’s move together and celebrate the beauty of dance!
Jelu Bellydance Experience
The JBE began as a deeply personal project born from my desire to connect with my heritage and share its rich narrative through my passion for dance. I am Mexican, born in Puebla, but my roots also extend to the Assyrian people, a part of my identity that has always resonated profoundly with me. Growing up, I was mesmerized by the stories my grandfather and grandaunt shared about our family’s migration—the struggles they faced and the lasting impact they had on the communities they encountered. They spoke of war from the perspective of refugees, of resilience, and of the Power of Community—values that continue to shape who I am and what I do today.
Jelu is the name of our Assyrian tribe, and through this project, my dance serves as a journey of personal expression and a tribute to that legacy. My aim is to share this inheritance of compassion, empowerment, and peace with others through movement and joy. All my classes and projects are spaces that welcome everyone, without exception, to dance, connect, have fun, and shine together.
